Our Story

After a career in educational publishing, teaching, and research, I started this company. I am a doctorate in geography and passionate about our Earth. I am also a volunteer climate leader, trained by Al Gore, providing free presentations on climate change to all age-groups across all platforms. My husband, an ex-Indian army officer, is also on board this company.

Yahvi means Earth in Sanskrit. Our products are Earth-friendly. I am concerned by the use of plastic bags and polypropylene material that are being dumped in landfills. Therefore, I thought of dealing in natural products and working for the environment in a way that would help protect our planet.

Our products include:

  • 3 types of natural resource jewellery: (i) plant-based, (ii) terracotta (iii) mix of brass & clay; all are handmade and made in homes by families
  • 2 types of scarves: (i) cashmere silk-wool blends that are handwoven by women (ii) katha scarves in silk & cotton/wool blend – katha is a form of hand sewing using running stitch to make patterns
  • Various bags: lunch bags, cosmetic bags, satchels, utility bags, shopping bags, wine bags, yoga mat bags – these are made of jute and cotton. Some have upcycled metal foil print (made from waste metal that prevents it from reaching the landfill). These are all handmade
  • Cushion or pillow covers
  • Tablerunners
